Never Knowing
by SH

Though I never knew you
Your story made life so clear
It made me think of how life’s so fragile
That losing someone is never fair

Our community became so close
After hearing about this awful event
Even though a perfect life was taken
So few knew what this meant

It meant that a human
Could take another’s life
And not feel an ounce of guilt
Upon leaving others with pain and strife

How could someone be so cruel?
How could somebody be filled with such hate?
May God have mercy on the person who took your life
For in taking you from your loved ones, that person has chosen his own fate

You were loved and you always will be
So many people cried for you
I know that you will be missed
By everyone you ever knew

for you, Ali
